Broos Names Final 2022 WCQ Squad

Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has confirmed the 24-man squad for the final two 2022 FIFA World Cup Group G qualifiers this month.

South Africa are in pole position at the summit of the standings, one point ahead of Ghana and are aiming to qualify for the final play-off round for Qatar 2022.

A total of 11 players from the original provisional squad have been cut for the final list with the likes of Oscarine Masuluke amongst the names who miss out.

Bafana face off against Zimbabwe at FNB Stadium on 11 November before what looks set to be a deciding clash against the Black Stars three days later at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.

The Warriors and Ethiopia – following back to back defeats to Bafana – have already been eliminated and have no chance of progressing to the next round.

Broos opted to select 24 players instead of the usual 23 because striker Victor Letsoalo is suspended for the first match against Zimbabwe.
