Broos Sends Clear Message To PSL Coaches

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos says he felt let down after being criticised by his colleagues in the DStv Premiership but insisted the topic is behind him now.

Several coaches from South Africa’s top flight commented publicly about issues in communication with the national team set up.

The likes of Rulani Mokwena, Mandla Ncikazi and Stuart Baxter all mentioned issues with Broos and Bafana, with a meeting between the new coach and his peers in the PSL yet to take place.

However, Broos insisted he would prefer to speak to the coaches in person, over the phone than via the media.

“Listen, I don’t talk about it anymore. I said what I’ve said and this is for me enough,” he told reporters on Monday.

“I hope, just hope in future, that if they are frustrated or if they have questions (points at phone) and then I’ll talk to them. Why not?

“I can understand that you have questions and that you are frustrated and I can’t understand that you criticise a colleague in front of journalists.

“This is cheap. So for me, this part is finished, it’s behind me, it’s over.”

Bafana take on Zimbabwe on Thursday, 11 November before traveling to Ghana for a potential Group G deciding qualifier against the Black Stars.
