Dolly Upbeat About Bafana Recall
Keagan Dolly says he’s excited to be back with Bafana Bafana after his fine performances with Kaizer Chiefs have earned him a recall.
The 28-year-old has scored five goals for Amakhosi in the DStv Premiership this season and assisted another three, with his superb form not being overlooked by Hugo Broos.
The Belgian tactician has called Dolly into his squad for the important 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Zimbabwe and Ghana.
Dolly believes his form and experience can help the team, if he gets the chance to represent his country again.
“Obviously it’s exciting to be back, enjoying my football again and being part of the national team,” he told reporters.
“As a footballer you always want to be part of the national setup and I’ve been here in the past and now I’m just happy to be back.
“Coming into the camp with confidence and seeing what the boys did in the past few games.
“For me there is nothing much that I need to change, I just need to – if I do get the chance – I need to perform and try my best to help where I can.”
Dolly has made 14 appearances for Bafana so far, with his last coming in the AFCON qualifiers against Sao Tome and Principe.
“Obviously I’ve been part of Bafana before. I think I have a little experience,” he added.
“But there is nothing I can do. If I do get the chance, like I said, if I play as a midfielder, left-back, anywhere I play, I have to do what I can to help the team and that’s why I’m here.
“I’m not going to change anything, I think my performances say it all and hopefully on the day I can just give my best.”
