Kaizer Chiefs legend Brian Baloyi has expressed being disappointed, saddened and heartbroken at how his former club and veteran goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune ended their 25-year playing relationship.
Khune, who had been at the club since the tender age of just 12, parted ways with his childhood club after his playing contract, which ended on June 30, was not renewed.

The club is said to have since engaged in talks with the legendary 37-year-old shotstopper about a possible role in the senior technical team as a token of appreciation for his excellent service for the club over the years.
A saddened “Spiderman” admitted that Khune must also take responsibility and entire blame the club for how things panned out.
“Disappointed, saddened, heartbroken,” Baloyi told #PrimeSportsWithMahlatse.
“Yeah, so, for me it could have been managed much better from both ends. Blame must not only go to the club, but it must also go as well to his team, must go to him as a person.
“After all is said and done, I think as a man, you have to take responsibility and stop the blame game and take the responsibility.
“I was chatting to friends a week ago, I said, ‘Look at the last 5-6 years he’s played less than 50 games’.
“I’m saying, imagine if he put everything in his life on hold and focused on himself, focused on his career. Six years, easy give or take is about 200-250 games.

“You would be sitting on over 600. No one would ever catch you in the PSL, in the current you know, era.
“So, now, it’s woulda, shoulda, coulda. But there is a possibility this is what he could have, the legacy he could’ve built for himself.
“But having said that, I think when he’s sitting by himself, he looks at himself in the mirror, ‘You say, you’ve done well boy, but could’ve done better’.
“Yeah like I said, not only sad in the whole situation, how it’s going now, but disappointed with both the club and him and his team that is managing him.
“Everyone could’ve dealt with this much better.”
