Stuart Baxter has revealed which Kaizer Chiefs players will not be able to take part in the Carling Black Label Cup due to injuries.
The game will take place on Sunday at Orlando Stadium and it will only be Baxter’s second game since returning to the Amakhosi dugout.
Pirates are the defending champions of the competition after beating Chiefs 2-0 in 2019, while the game did not take place in 2020 due to Covid-19.
Overall, the Buccaneers have lifted the trophy five times, while Chiefs have claimed it thrice and Baxter has confirmed his side are having a few injury problems.
“We have quite a long list out,” Baxter told a press conference.
“Lebo Manyama, Leo Castro, are definitely out. (Dumisani) Zuma is out. A couple of players left us.
“Khama (Billiat) went down today with some sort of flew. We need to be careful and do all the Covid-19 tests.
“Siya (Ngezana) has gone down with a hamstring issue. Samir (Nurkovic), is also recovering from a knee injury.
“The list is long, there are a lot of players who won’t be included.”
Chiefs current starting XI: Khune, Mathoho, Cardoso, Mashiane, Mphahlele, Lesako, Blom, Baccus, Radebe, Nurkovic, Billiat.
