Baxter Gives Update On Dolly

Stuart Baxter has commented on Keagan Dolly’s performance against Mamelodi Sundowns after being asked when fans can expect him in the starting XI.

Dolly came on as a second-half substitute in the 59th minute and immediately set up Khama Billiat’s 2-2 equaliser seconds later.

He was also the only Amakhosi player to convert his penalty, with Baxter reserving special praise for his new signing after the game.

“Keagan has been excellent in training in short bursts,” he told reporters.

“Keagan has not played in games in a while and he is not in the shape that he wants to be in to be able to give his best.

“But, Keagan being a very good player, means that he is sees things quickly and his passing is good and the ball is good.”

Baxter was asked whether Dolly can be expected the start in the near future, but explained that he is still a bit off his match fitness.

“We wanted to give him half an hour today but he went on to get a little bit more than that, but I think Keagan as soon he gets his match tempo, his match weight and more time under his belt then Keagan is going to be a great addition to Kaizer Chiefs,” the coach added.

However, Dolly was not able to prevent his side’s MTN8 knockout after Kennedy Mweene saved four penalties. Sundowns will now face Golden Arrows in the semi-finals, while Cape Town City will meet Swallows FC.
