Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter has made an admission about Njabulo Ngcobo after he featured as midfielder for Bafana Bafana.
The DStv Premiership Defender of the Season is yet to feature for Chiefs but was substituted on as a midfielder by Hugo Broos against Ghana.
His club coach was asked if Ngcobo could also feature in midfield for Amakhosi and admitted he certainly has the qualities to do so.
“Do I not play Ngcobo as a midfield player? Certainly he is comfortable enough on the ball to play there,” Baxter told reporters.
“If we were to play a certain way, it would be an absolute possibility that he could play as one of the midfield players.”
Baxter also revealed that some of his technical team were part of the Bafana camp and he received great feedback about his players that were part of the squad.
“We had members of staff as part of the Bafana staff, so we go some inside information,” he added.
“I think they all did really well in camp. I think that they’ve come back quite fresh. What I saw of them, their performances in the games were fine, considering that they are new to a new squad.”
Chiefs will face Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Versfeld at 17:00 today.
