Baxter On His Technical Team
Stuart Baxter has explained why he didn’t make any changes to his technical team, keeping Arthur Zwane and Dillon Sheppard as his assistants.
The 67-year-old returned to Naturena this week, replacing Gavin Hunt but opted to continue with the coaching staff of the former.
Zwane and Sheppard will function as Baxter’s assistants but also continue in their role as reserve team coaches.
“The whole technical team, I think apart from Dillon, I’ve worked with,” he told the club’s media department.
“Molefi I’ve worked with at Bafana, and it feels good that he’s involved in this project because he’s a proper football person with good understanding of the game.
“I’ve worked with coach Arthur before, he was with me my first time and so we get on well and I think he was also, as a player also in my first Bafana stint. I think Arthur was just around at that time.
“So I’ve been just about with the whole technical team at some time, so it’s an exciting one.
“And Dillon and Arthur, they are coaches in their own right. Anything I can do to help them gain the weapons that they gonna need on the battlefield in the future, it’s my pleasure to do that.”
Club legend Doctor Khumalo worked as Baxter’s assistant during his first stint with the club that saw the Glamour Boys claim four trophies.
