Baxter Reacts To Shock Chiefs Defeat

Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter has reacted to his side’s shock 4-1 defeat against Royal AM on Saturday.

The Glamour Boys lost to Royal AM thanks to two goals by Victor Letsoalo, making it consecutive defeats for Baxter’s men.

As a consequence, Amakhosi remained on four points the Englishman was less than pleased with his side’s performance.

“I thought the first 30 minutes of the game, we picked up a little where we left off,” Baxter told media after the game.

“The structure was quite good, the movement was quite good and we created chances but we failed to take those chances. Then again as we have done in previous game we gave away a rather and sloppy goal from our side.

“We then get into a situation where we want to chase the game a little bit. We’ve got plenty of time and we tried to stay patient, but then Nange has his injury and that gives us a bit of imbalance.

“We come in at half-time and we’re talking about sharpening the game, not overhauling the game. But then when we concede the second goal and we have to change more, we have to chase, we go to a back-four and maybe that makes it a little bit more complicated for the players, I don’t know.

“The decision-making after that, the nervousness, the lack of quality and the naivety of our decision-making made it very difficult to get back into the game. Even though we got a goal back, we allowed another goal straight after.

“The last 10-odd minutes were quite embarrassing and we need to apologise to our supporters about the manner in which the game finished.

“What started as a good night, turned into a very poor from our side.”
