Belgium and Eredivisie Interest In Le Roux

Former SuperSport United midfielder Luke Le Roux has attracted interest from Belgium and the Netherlands after another impressive season in Sweden with Varberg BoIS.

The 21-year-old midfielder has been one of the first names on the team sheet for the Swedish top-flight side since his switch from SuperSport back in February 2020.

In his first two seasons, he’s racked up 50 appearances for the first-team while head coach Joakim Persson has touted him for a future in Europe’s top-five leagues.

iDiski Times has learnt Cercle Brugge and Sparta Rotterdam have shortlisted the midfielder as a potential January transfer target and have made contact with the players’ representatives.

No official bid has been tabled to Varbergs who rate Le Roux highly and are aiming to retain his services beyond the current season – should any potential offers not meet their asking price.

Fellow South Africans Dean Solomons and Keanin Ayer have already parted ways with the club upon the expiry of their contracts with Tashreeq Matthews look set for a big-money move away during the off-season.

Ryan Moon has been tabled a contract extension with a deadline set for the 15th of December before the club closes doors for the end of season break.
