Bloem Celtic Break Silence, Say Club Not Dead!
For a first time since news of the sale from Bloemfontein Celtic to Royal AM became public, the Free State-based club has broken their silence, saying not all parts of the club are gone.
The PSL approved the sale of Celtic’s DStv Premiership status to Royal AM on Friday, explaining their decision in a press conference on Tuesday.
The first-team players subsequently moved to Kwa-Zulu Natal and will now form a team mixed with players from the old Royal AM to compete in the DStv Premiership.
However, Bloem Celtic have now confirmed that certain parts of the club will continue and that chairman Max Tshabalala will support them “all the way”.
The club will continue it’s ABC Motsepe League team as well as the Bloemfontein Celtic FC Ladies team, while it is also believed the club’s youth structures will continue and only their PSL status was sold.
The club further stated that Tshabalala “saved players and technical team members who were working with the first team” and “reshuffled employees to ensure that they don’t lose their jobs”.
