SAFA have issued a statement on reports that Molefi Ntseki has been appointed as Bafana Bafana assistant coach.
The news broke earlier after new national team coach Hugo Broos told SAFM that Ntseki would be his South African assistant.
However, this publication understands that some high profile figures at SAFA were shocked about the news.
Later this evening, SAFA released a brief statement, saying that Ntseki has not returned to the national team setup.
“Contrary to widespread news, SAFA would like to clarify to all football fans that the Association has NOT appointed any local Assistant Coach for Bafana Bafana,” read a post on social media.
“The name making headlines is NOT the Association’s position. The SAFA NEC will appoint a local Assistant Coach soon.”
