Brooks – I’m Surprised But I’ve Also Put In Hard Work
TS Galaxy’s teenage midfielder Ethan Brooks, who was named in Bafana Bafana’s starting XI, admits he was surprised to get a call-up to the national team.
Brooks was a replacement call-up this week for today’s match against Uganda, and caps a meteoric rise for the 19-year-old.
The Joburg-born player made his professional debut in the 2019/2020 season in the GladAfrica Championship, and played in twelve matches in the DStv Premiership this season.
Last year he also made his national U20 debut at the Cosafa Cup.
“It feels great to be part of the Bafana Bafana squad,” Brooks said on the TS Galaxy website.
“Ever since I’ve been a small boy, I’ve been watching them. It is amazing to be in the squad.
“Yes, I’m surprised but I’ve also put in hard work. I want to learn as much as possible during the camp.
“I want to take whatever that I will learn and implement it in my game when I go back to my club.”
