Broos Explains DRC And Raja Links
New Bafana Bafana Coach Hugo Broos has clarified about the links he had with the DR Congo national team job and Raja Casablanca, prior to accepting the South African role.
Broos was confirmed as Molefi Ntseki’s successor last week, and the Belgian coach arrived in South Africa on Monday evening.
He is set to address the media today in his first official press conference, where it is believed he will announce his new assistants.
“But okay, there were some contacts with DRC. But, you know, when South Africa is coming, and you see the project here, then the choice is quickly made,” Broos told iDiski Times, “and I’m happy to be here.”
There had also been links with Raja.
“I wasn’t looking to coach a club. I had the experience with Cameroon, it’s different, and I like more to be coach of the national teams than to be coach of the club. And, you know, Raja, Casablanca is not the most easiest club of the world.”
