Broos Ready To Give Mosele Another Chance

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos says he’s ready to give Orlando Pirates midfielder Goodman Mosele another chance in the national team but the player needs to explain himself first.

Mosele did not pitch up to the national team camp ahead of their double header with Ethiopia, which upset Broos ahead of the games.

The coach has now confirmed that he still has not heard anything from the player’s side, but would be ready to forgive him, if he makes the first step.

“I don’t think it’s up to me to make contact with him,” Broos told Skepe Matsebane on PowerSportExtra.

“I think it’s up to him to contact me, he didn’t come to camp. He didn’t call us to say ‘look I didn’t come for this and this reason’.

“We tried to reach him, he was not reachable. This is something you don’t do when you’re selected for the national team.

“I’m open for everything. If he doesn’t want to play for Bafana Bafana, ok. He takes the phone and calls me and says ‘look coach, I’m not interested to play’.

“Or maybe there was a problem, I don’t know. Then you call and say ‘coach, this is my problem, I can’t be in selection’. Then for me it’s ok and the next time, if it’s possible I will take him again but now, I’m sorry, it’s not up to me to go to him.

“I think it’s up to him now. We will see what happens in the next month, in the next weeks, I don’t know, but this doesn’t mean that Goodman Mosele will never play in Bafana Bafana.

“Not at all, but I think we have to clarify something between me and him, but it’s up to him.”
