Bvuma – There Are No Friendly Games

Ahead of this weekend’s friendly CUFA Cup against Marumo Gallants, Bruce Bvuma has spoken about the differences at Kaizer Chiefs this season.

With the FIFA international break dominating the calendar this week, Chiefs will take on Marumo Gallants on Sunday in Bloemfontein.

Speaking to media at the official media day, Bvuma noted some of the changes in mentality at the club since Nasreddine Nabi’s arrival, and said that Sunday’s game might be a friendly, but they will approach it no differently to any other fixture.

“I think that’s where the mentality part comes in,” Bvuma told the media on Thursday.

“Because even with the friendly games we’ve played, the coach made it clear that for him, there are no friendly games. We need to take it serious. So we’re going into this game, we’re preparing well, knowing that we need to go out there and win the game.”

Bvuma has reiterated that the changes Nabi has made, and the start they’ve had as made this season feel very different to those in the past.

“It feels different, not only because we started the way we started, but as I mentioned the mentality has changed a lot,” he said.

“We taking games like very serious, not that we haven’t in the past, but it feels different.

“The coaches, they’ve brought in, like a different experience, and I feel like it’s been working for us.”
