Cardoso Feels Chiefs Are On The Up

Kaizer Chiefs defender Daniel Cardoso says the team is improving game-by-game, and they will be looking for a home victory when they face Cape Town City in the DStv Premiership on Wednesday.

Chiefs have a chance of moving into the top eight with the victory, as they are currently ninth, two points behind TS Galaxy, who occupy eighth spot. City are currently seventh, six points ahead of Chiefs.

Cardoso says City, who like to play the ball, will be tough opposition, but after beating them away, he is confident they can get the W at home.

“Ja, we’ve been good. You know obviously the draw right at the end, caught us a bit, but spirits are up, heads are up in a camp,” Cardo said in reference to the team’s draw against Baroka last Thursday.

“We’ve got Cape Town City on Wednesday, it’s not going to be an easy one, they are very good ball-playing team. We saw that when we play them in Cape Town, we managed to overcome them 2-1, but they started putting pressure on us towards the end and we held out.”

“So it is a home game, and I think that we should be collecting the three points, we really needed it at the moment. As you can see our standings in the log aren’t the best. So these three points will help us I mean, we have to start coming up the league table, we’ve been doing well in CAF, but in the league we’ve been struggling a bit, so hopefully, we can start lifting our form.”

“Ja, and like I said, Cape Town City, a very tough team, a team that loves to play the ball, and they hardly play the long ball, they play combination play. So it’s gonna be a tough one. We starting to come together nicely.”

“As you can see, in the past few games, we’ve been playing a bit better, you know, it’s not just long ball all the time. So the coach is giving us a bit more confidence at the moment.
