Chiefs Concede Four In Ouagadougou

Wydad Casablanca beat Kaizer Chiefs 4-0 in their CAF Champions League Group C game at the Stade du 4 Aout in Ouagadougou.

Wydad took the lead in the 7th minute as Mohammed Ounnajem arrived on the far post and tucked a Muaid Ellafi cross into Itumeleng Khune’s goals.

While statistically it was a pretty even encounter, Wydad took their chances, and they made it 2-0 just before half-time as Khune was beaten by Ayoub El Kaabi’s header, set up with a great cross from Ounnajem.

Chiefs pushed hard to get back into the game in the second half, but found Ahmed Reda Tagnaouti in good form in the Wydad goal.

And Wydad made it 3-0 in the 86th minute,when Simon Msuva beat Khune.

It got worse, captain Ramalhwe Mphahlele was sent off in stoppage time, a second booking, and Wydad were awarded a penalty. Yahoo Jabrane converted to make it 4-0.

Wydad go back to the top of Group C on six points, followed by Horoya on four, Chiefs are third with one, with Petro de Luanda fourth with zero.
