Chiefs Give Update On Simba Clash

The date for the CAF Champions League quarter-final first leg match between Kaizer Chiefs and Simba S.C. of Tanzania has been confirmed.

The first leg will be played at the FNB on Saturday the 15th of May, with kick off scheduled for 6pm, Amakhosi stated on their website.

The second leg will be played a week later in Dar es Salam, on the 22 May with kick off at 4pm local time (3pm SAST).

This is a historic first ever last eight appearance in the CAFCL for the Amakhosi, who also reached the Group Stages for the first time this season.

It has been the club’s silver lining in a disappointing season, especially in the DStv Premiership, where last season’s title challengers are currently ninth on the table.

Gavin Hunt team’s struggles have been compounded by a FIFA transfer ban, that saw them unable to sign new players in the past two transfer windows, as well as a number of injuries to key players throughout the season.
