Chiefs Hit Unwanted Record
Kaizer Chiefs have hit a negative record for a first time in the Premiership era since the league was reduced to 16 teams.
The Glamour Boys shared the spoils with Swallows FC on Wednesday, making it four DStv Premiership games without a win.
Gavin Hunt’s men came from behind to secure a point but it was the goal they conceded that saw them set an unwanted record.
It was already the 33rd goal Chiefs conceded in the DStv Premiership in 2020/21 – the most Amakhosi have conceded since the league was reduced 16 teams in 2002/03.
The draw saw Chiefs remain in 10th position, two points behind eight-placed TS Galaxy but also only five above TTM in the relegation play-off spot.
With the Soweto giants struggling to secure results this season, iDiski Times senior writer Velile Mnyandu has learned that management could look at replacing Hunt with former coach Stuart Baxter at the end of the season.
