Chiefs Star Breaks Musona Record
Kaizer Chiefs star Eric Mathoho broke Knowledge Musona’s record of most goals in the CAF Champions League for Amakhosi in their 4-0 thrashing of Simba SC.
The Amakhosi defender netted his side’s opener in the their impressive 4-0 win of the Tanzanian visitors.
It was already Mathoho’s third goal in this season’s CAF Champions League campaign after he also found the back of the net against PWD Bamenda in the preliminary round as well as Petro Luanda during the group stage.
‘Tower’ also scored once in the 2013/14 campaign, striking in a 4-0 first-round victory over Muculmana, before finding the back of the net twice in another 4-0 win over Volcan Club in the preliminary round in 2016.
As a consequence, Mathoho broke Musona’s CAFCL tally, as the club’s social media accounts pointed out.
Musona, though, had scored all of his five strikes in the 2013/14 campaign, netting four times in two hames against Muculmana and once against AS Vita Club.
Earlier in the campaign, Mathoho already became the first Chiefs player to find the back of the net in three different CAF Champions League campaigns.
