Pule Mmodi is set to miss Kaizer Chiefs‘ opening Betway Premiership clash against Stellenbosch FC this afternoon due to suspension.
The pacey winger saw red in Amakhosi’s penultimate league clash of the 2024/25 season against Sekhukhune United which ended in a 1-1 draw at New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
Chiefs will also be without towering defender Rushwin Dortley who is still busy with his injury rehabilitation after missing the majority of the last campaign on the sidelines.
The club has also confirmed that head coach Nasreddine Nabi will not be in the dugout this afternoon after he had to travel to Tunisia following a critical accident involving his wife, and thus in his absence, first assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef and second assistant coach Cedric Kaze will be on bench.
After both Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates dropped points in their respective league clashes on Saturday, Chiefs and Stellies will see this as an opportunity to gun for maximum points.
The clash gets underway at 17:30.
