City Coach Wanted More Than A Draw
Cape Town City interim coach Diogo Peral says that they wanted the three points at home, and were disappointed to only draw against ten man Maritzburg United on Wednesday evening.
City remain seventh on the DStv Premiership log after the goalless draw, while Maritzburg are 12th.
Peral, who has been in charge for the last two games since the club placed Jan Olde Riekerink on administrative leave, says however he was pleased with his team’s defensive performance, but they need to do a little better going forward.
“Of course at home we wanted three points, especially when a team’s got ten men, Peral said after the goalless draw.
“But we also want to keep doing what we’re doing ,defensively, we were very good ,on transition we had chances that we should have done better with, and we go again next week and see if we can get the points.”
“But defensively the guys know what they’re doing now. Now we just need to work on going forward and getting those goals ,we need the next three points desperately, especially at home.”
“So disappointed that we didn’t get more today, but at the same time, I I don’t want to give the players a hard time about it because I thought they did what was asked of them.”
