The Diski Challenge season will kick off this coming weekend, the PSL confirmed on Monday.
Going forward there has also been a name change, and the tournament will now be known as the DStv Diski Challenge.
On Saturday Chippa United will play Black Leopards, while SuperSport United will take on Orlando Pirates.
On Sunday Tshakhuma will make their debut against Maritzburg United, while Mamelodi Sundowns will take on Kaizer Chiefs.
These matches will be played behind-closed-doors at the Giant Stadium.
“When we launched the first season of the Multichoice Diski Challenge, we did so to address football development challenges in our country,” Dr Irvin Khoza was quoted as saying.
“Possession, precision, and quality were some of the biggest challenges facing our budding stars.”
“We have already seen improvements and have made progress towards winning the battle. Most of the players that started at the inception of the under 23, are now regulars in the DStv Premiership and Glad Africa Championship.”
It was also confirmed that there will be no Diski Shield this season.
The Diski Challenge is expected to be completed in the first week of July next year.
