Richards Bay Head Coach Simo Dladla predicts a cracker of a game when his team take on Dan Malesela’s Chippa United in the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals this weekend.
The GladAfrica Championship leaders, who knocked out Kaizer Chiefs in the last 32, are in a rich run of form, and have been unbeaten in their last 14 games in all competitions
Dladla and Malesela are no strangers, and have faced each other a few times in the South African tier, and Dladla says he can see Malesela has got Chippa’s players understanding his philosophy.
“Ja, we played a few games in the NFD. It was always fireworks, end to end stuff, he’s not a defensive coach, I’m not a defensive coach, of course, I always instilled those principles in players on how to defend ourselves, but it’s going to be a cracker of a game,” Dladla said in the pre match presser.
“And it’s going to be goals galore.”
“I saw them when they played AmaZulu. They are similar to what I would see at TS Galaxy. So that tells you that he has his footprint there, Dan has instilled his philosophy very well on those players.”
“And ja, it’s going to be full of goals, end-to-end stuff. We’re going to put the ball on the floor as well. We’re going to play, and we’re going to open them up, they’re going to do the same, but the team that will take their chances is the team that will come out victorious in the end.”
