Keagan Dolly says it’s important for Kaizer Chiefs to put their Nedbank Cup disappointment behind them, and bounce back when they face Cape Town City in the DStv Premiership on Tuesday.
Chiefs lost 1-0 in the round of 32 to TS Galaxy, and now only have the league to compete in for the remainder of the season.
They are currently fourth on the table, but a won against City at the Cape Town Stadium would elevate them into second spot.
“Ja, I think we all know that it’s not easy going to Cape Town,” Dolly told the Chiefs’ media department.
“Cape Town City is a good team, they good on the ball, they like playing the ball and I think it’s going to be a good game for us.
“Like I said, for us, it’s important for us to come back as a team, as a whole the whole squad, we need to start concentrating and just doing our best on the day.
Dolly says the mood in the camp after the loss to TS Galaxy was low, but things are looking up again.
“Obviously, after the game, we were very disappointed,” he continued.
“We were sad. But I think it’s good that we have another game coming tomorrow so we can start shifting our focus again.
” I think (yesterday) we still were in shock and disappointed from our performance on Saturday.
“I think today the boys are really excited for tomorrow and ja, we will really prepare well and got ou there and try our best to win for the team.
But Dolly says they won’t take City for granted, especially as they’re playing them in Cape Town.
“Like I said they’re a very, very good team on the ball, they they have good movement off the ball, and they have quality players,” he concluded.
“We know they’re playing at home and it’s not easy going to Cape Town and and playing there but we have to stick to what we’re good at and and focus on ourselves and not worry too much about Cape Town City.”
