Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Haashim Domingo says they know the CAF Champions League is difficult, but he hopes the team will be prepared to challenge any team.
Domingo has featured eight times in all competitions this season, collecting two assists so far in 2021/22.
The Tshwane giants are unbeaten in all competitions so far, only drawing one game and winning five of their six games in the DStv Premiership.
The MTN8 finalists will return to action in Africa’s elite competition this week, as they will take on Congolese giants AS Maniema Union on Sunday in an away game.
“We are preparing mentally for this upcoming period as we know it won’t be easy,” Domingo told club’s media department.
“The nice thing is that we have depth in the squad. We have lots of quality, so we will be prepared for the hectic schedule.”
Domingo also praised that Sundowns’ Ladies team also reached the CAF Women’s Champions League, which will take place in Egypt, saying it shows the club want to strive for greatness.
“It’s huge to have both teams in the Champions League, it just sets the tone for the type of club we have. We strive for greatness not only locally but internationally,” he added.
