Agent Reveals Details Of Khoza Talks About Mhango

May 14, 2022

Gabadinho Mhango’s agent Mike Makaab has revealed what he and Dr. Irvin Khoza discussed regarding the Orlando Pirates striker’s future during a recent meeting.

Mhango, who had a brilliant Africa Cup of Nations tournament, has struggled for regular game-time at the Sea Robbers this campaign, making only 10 appearances.

However, he did convert an important penalty in the shoutout victory over Simba SC in the CAF Confederations Cup quarter-final.

Mhango’s agent now confirmed that the club did indeed activate an extension clause in his contract and he recently had a meeting with Bucs chairman Dr. Khoza, where the Pirates supremo agreed to let the player should they receive an offer that satisfies them.

“Before we even start discussing next season, [I must state] the fact that Orlando Pirates have exercised the option to extend his contract which means that he is contracted to Orlando Pirates for a further two seasons,” Makaab said on Gagasi FM.

“We always knew that that would be the case, however, after sitting down with the chairman, he’s made it clear to me if we have a team that shows interest and the deal is a good deal for both club and player, he’ll consider it.

“I’ve spoken to Gabadinho and the most important thing is he’s fully committed to Pirates for the remainder of the season, he’s a professional. He has to do what he has to do as a professional football player.”

Mhango and Pirates return to action on Sunday when they host Al Ahli Tripoli in the CAF Confederations Cup semi-final second leg at Orlando Stadium, entering the game after winning the first leg 2-0 away from home.
