Chiefs Star Ready For ‘Intimidating Fans’

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Cole Alexander could not hide his excitement about the return of the Amakhosi faithful after more than two years without supporters.

Alexander who joined the club from Odisha in the off-season has yet to play in front of Chiefs supporters while wearing the Black and Gold.

The Amakhosi workhorse managed to score his first goal for the club this weekend when Chiefs hammered Chippa United 3-1.

“Ja, it’s been almost 12 weeks since returning to play, so I’m very happy to get some game time and get back into the pitch,” Alexander told Kaizer Chiefs media. “I was very happy to get my first goal in Chiefs colours. Very very happy for that”

The Soweto giants are set to face TS Galaxy next, who they got knocked out by in the Nedbank Cup – whilst looking to keep pressure on second-placed Royal AM.

“I think we gonna take it as we take every other game, we will go on training and go to it like any other game. We got out from the Nedbank Cup against them. I think that can be a bit of motivation for us,” he said before adding his thoughts on the return of fans.

“Very excited about that, about the fans returning. As a player it was always hard to play against Chiefs the crowd was very intimidating so for me I’m excited to have the opposite of that, to have the crowd for us, for me in this case that’s a big advantage.

“I know because I’ve played against Chiefs when there was a crowd intimidating us definitely an advantage to the team. I’m just gonna give my best every single day, it’s all I can promise you.”
