Baxter Gives Chiefs Injury Update Ahead Of Soweto Derby
Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter has given an injury update ahead of the upcoming Soweto Derby against rivals Orlando Pirates on Saturday, confirming that S’fiso Hlanti will be out for a few months.
Amakhosi enter the game, sitting two points behind the Buccaneers after their recent defeat to Stellenbosch FC, while Pirates beat Sekhukhune United 2-1.
It will be Baxter’s 100th league game in charge of the Glamour Boys, but he will have to do without S’fiso Hlanti, and not just for the derby.
Baxter confirmed that Hlanti will be out for a few months, which will also affect Hugo Broos’ Bafana Bafana squad.
“In training, S’fiso Hlanti tore his achilles tendon today so that’s another one on our list,” Baxter confirmed at today’s Soweto derby presser.
“So he’s gonna be out for probably a good few months.
“Everybody has injuries and we both got our injury list, and you can wish that he would be back and he would be back, and have a full squad to select from, but that’s not how it is.”
