Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter has revealed that he’s happy to have Khama Billiat back after his recent suspension and explained what he adds to the team.

Billiat, 31, missed Amakhosi’s 0-0 draw with TS Galaxy due to suspension but will return for the clash against Supersport United on Saturday.

Baxter explained that Billiat adds a different dimension to his attack, in particular following his resurgence this season.

“I didn’t see him in previous seasons but according to a lot of people who saw him in that time, he has made a resurgence and I think Khama’s performances have been very lively,” Baxter said when asked by iDiski Times about Billiat.

“To break down a compact defence, you need people that are sharp and you need people that have that bit of extra technique and pace and therefore we do miss Khama.

“We have played him in a little bit of a false nine role and we can play him coming from the side. Whichever role we play him, he always looks lively, he always creates some problems for the opponents.

“So we are glad to see him back.”

Baxter, though, also lamented that he hasn’t been able to preferred his attacking line regularly enough, with at least one of them being absent recently.

“One of the problems we have had is that we have been having one or two of the front players missing at the same time due to injuries and suspensions. And that has broken up the rhythm that was working quite nicely,” he added.

“It’s always possible for us to throw in one of the younger ones like Bibo or Mshini or someone like that, but whilst the three or four that were playing were playing solidly, then that was my problem – how do I get these kids onto the field.

“Now Khama is back, we can tweak the shape a little bit. Do we play with four at the back or three and an extra wing-back? Certainly Khama coming back is a bonus for us.”

The Glamour Boys will host SuperSport at the FNB Stadium at 19:30 on Saturday.
