Billiat On His Superb Form

Khama Billiat has opened up on his strong form and insisted Amakhosi are not looking at the table at this stage.

The forward has been involved in nine goals in 12 league appearances so far, scoring four and assisting five more.

He recently sat out in the 1-1 home draw with AmaZulu but returned with two goals and an assist against Swallows.

“I want to thank God for this opportunity and for keeping us strong. You know we are living in a difficult time right now. We pray to God that he keeps us strong and that we have this strong team,” he told the club’s media department.

“We have got a strong squad and I always trust my boys, whether I play or don’t play we are positive about the result and we work hard like we always do.

“I am happy for the team and I am happy that we keep getting stronger and stronger. We understand each other and the importance of collecting the maximum points that we needed.”

Billiat also insisted that Chiefs are not looking at the table right now despite climbing into second place following their recent run of five wins from their last seven games.

“It’s not easy, but we are not looking at the table,” he added.

“Right now, we want to focus on the things that the coaches want us to do and focus on getting the basics right, which will always help us get the good results and performances and then we will look at the table afterwards.

We will stay focused and humble and we keep on working hard for the team.

“We are professional enough. We used to celebrate when we were young right? Now, we celebrate in a professional way.

“We don’t need to be out there celebrating like the league is finished. We have to stay focused.”

Chiefs will return to action on Saturday when they host Cape Town City at the FNB Stadium at 18:00.
