Blom On Special Chiefs Celebration

Njabulo Blom, who was Man of the Match in the Soweto Derby, has commented on Kaizer Chiefs’ special celebration after Keagan Dolly scored the winning goal.

The 21-year-old youth product of the club has featured in all DStv Premiership games under Stuart Baxter this season and topped off his fine campaign so far by collecting the Man of the Match award in the derby.

After Dolly’s late winner, several Amakhosi players were seen celebrating together in what seemed a studied celebration and Blom confirmed the players had discussed it earlier in the dressing room.

“Yes, obviously the guys were discussing it in the changing room before the match. So I do know about the celebration,” he told SuperSport TV.

He also commented on winning the Soweto Derby and how much it means to him – a youth product of the Glamour Boys.

“It’s always a great feeling winning games, but the Soweto Derby is a special game. I am so happy,” he said.

“It was a tough game. I’d like to thank God for the strength and wisdom he gave us, the push that he gave me and as a team for the fighting spirit. I’d like to thank God for giving us the three points.

“Kaizer Chiefs supporters, we promised you we will give you our best in each and every game and we displayed that fighting spirit on the field today.”

The victory saw Chiefs overtake their rivals on the log and climbed into sixth position with 15 points from 10 games.
