Hunt Talks Next Move, Reveals Man City Visit

January 20, 2022

Gavin Hunt has explained why he will visit Manchester City next month and says he’s ready for his next coaching gig.

The 57-year-old, who is currently without a club after he was released by Chippa United, will visit the Premier League giants in February to get an insight into their training sessions and also watch their games.

He’s currently working as 2021 African Cup of Nations analyst for SuperSport and will travel to England after the tournament is done.

“Hopefully [I can] learn as much as I can when I get there,” he told SunSport.

“I will check out the environment and see if there are opportunities. I got an invitation from a friend, who works at the club.

“For now, I’m enjoying my role as an analyst at SuperSport, but I’m available to take on new job offers.”

Hunt also confirmed that he’s ready to take up the next challenge, but admitted there are currently not jobs available in South Africa.

“In SA, it’s about who you know and not about your coaching experience and qualifications,” he added.

“I’m ready for my next coaching challenge. I had good jobs and believe they will come again.

“I’m still looking and nothing is available at the moment. I’m willing to take any job that comes my way.”

Hunt was released by Chippa United after after he had collected just one win in 10 games, with the Chilliboys being the eighth club he’s coached in South Africa.
