Johnson On Pirates Rumours

Cavin Johnson has addressed rumours linking him with the head coach job at Orlando Pirates.

The 63-year-old left his role as Pitso Mosimane’s assistant at Al Ahly at the end of last season and has returned to South Africa.

Rumours linked with the head coach job at the Buccaneers, who are currently guided by co-caretaker coaches Fadlu Davids and Mandla Ncikazi.

However, Johnson has now insisted he has not been in contact with the Sea Robbers.

“There was a lot of talk about that but nothing of that came ahead,” he said on Sport On with Thabiso Mosia.

“There are a lot of other teams that are talking about, me joining them and me going there, but as I am now, nothing has come.

“I’m still at home that I’m enjoying myself. It’s only been a month and a half that I’m back home now. We will see what happens, football is a funny game, you’ve got to take one day at a time.

Johnson also confirmed that he is in between staying away from getting back into the game and just staying at home resting.

“One moment, yes, in another moment you’d like to relax and look at what’s going on in the rest of the world, you watch all the qualifiers, you watch how they rob Bafana Bafana.

“You look forward to trying to fix up things and what the latest trends are.”
