Makhubedu Reveals In-Form Sekhukhune Goals

Sekhukhune United coach MacDonald Makhubedu says he is happy for the team’s current form and revealed the goals of the club going forward.

Makhubedu was happy with his team’s display in a last-minute 1-0 win over Swallows FC at Dobsonville Stadium on Sunday in the DStv Premiership.

The coach also credited his technical team and players for showing good character as they head in to the international break, but insisted that they have not set any mandate.

“We had to win, we lost on Tuesday. No excuses. We did well three games, four games before Pirates on Tuesday, then we lost,” he said after the match.

“Then today we had to regain form. If we lost today, it was going be tough, and we showed character. Losing on Tuesday, coming back away to Dobsonville and get three points, we had to win to keep the momentum.

“So we couldn’t afford to lose two games in a row. Going to a FIFA, we had to win, and I need to thank my boys, my technical team worked very, very hard on this game.

“But we played against Swallows, they wanted to hurt us in the first 20 minutes, but we dominated the game from the first minute till the last, we just had to do well today.”

Makhubedu also explained that the team wants to be out of the relegation battle as quick as possible.

“No no, we don’t have a mandate. What do we want is to be safe from relegation before the last five games. We don’t want to panic on the last five games,” he added.

“So yes we want to do well, all the 16 teams have one dream of winning the league or being on the top four, but us we want to be safe before the last five games. We think our boys, we think we have, will take us there.
