Orlando Pirates co-coach Fadlu Davids has revealed that Richard Ofori felt responsible for the accident that left Paseka Mako unconscious on the pitch.
The Pirates goalkeeper had collided with his own teammate, an incident which left Mako unconscious at first, with pictures showing Ofori very emotional as the club’s medics attended to his teammate.

Davids, who confirmed that Mako had been stabilised and was conscious on his way to hospital, insisted that Ofori shouldn’t feel responsible for the unfortunate collision.
“Richard took it quite hard,” Davids told journalists, including iDiski Times Lethabo Kganyago after the match.
“Of course, in the first step when you have the clash, you feel responsible.
“But in actual fact he’s not responsible, he’s going for the ball, I watched the replay now again, both of them look at the ball and then his knee hits him [Mako] in the face, and yeah it’s a knockout.
“He [Ofori] has got a wound on his knee that also made him realise how serious it was. For him to have such a wound, he must’ve knocked him really hard.”
Pirates have given an update on Mako, saying he’s suffered fractures of his facial bones and nose, but no skull fracture or brain damage.
