Pitso Sends Message To Kekana
Pitso Mosimane has sent a message to his former Mamelodi Sundowns captain Hlompho Kekana after Masandawana announced they have parted ways with the 36-year-old.
Kekana leaves Chloorkop after 10 years during which has lifted 10 trophies, including six DStv Premiership titles and one CAF Champions League.
His former coach Mosimane, who won several of the accolades together with Kekana, took to social media to pay gratitude to his former player.
“Captain my Captain! Hlompho Kekana, what an honour to have had the opportunity to work with you. Thank you for being one of the greatest people in the football community,” he wrote.
“You’ve been the most successful captain that Mamelodi Sundowns F.C. has ever had, winning every South African football trophy during your time as well as CAF Club Football.
“Your shoes will be hard to fill and your legacy will live on forever.”
According to Transfermarkt, Kekana made 292 appearances under Mosimane, scoring 35 goals and assisting in another 21.
