Shandu – What Dr. Khoza Told Me After Bucs Move
Orlando Pirates midfielder Bandile Shandu has revealed what the club’s chairman Dr. Irvin Khoza told him during their first conversation after he joined the team.
The former Maritzburg United player signed a three-year deal with the Buccaneers after his contract with Maritzburg had come to an end.
The 25-year-old, who has featured in all 10 DStv Premiership games this campaign, spoke to iDiski Times senior writer Velile Mnyandu for this week’s edition of the newspaper.
Among many things, Shandu explained how it felt meeting Dr. Khoza for a first time.
“You get to hear stories but when it is happening to you, you don’t believe it. You wake up and think it is a dream, it is was great experience,” Shandu told iDiski Times.
When asked what the Bucs chairman told him, Shandu revealed: “(He said) just to add value, they know what I can bring to the club, and it’s just to believe in myself and add value when I can.
“We’ve got really great players, players in the national team and players who have made a name for themselves in South African football.
“We have a really great squad, and we are competing.”
