Seven DStv Premiership fixtures were played concurrently on Saturday afternoon, and there were wins for Baroka and Kaizer Chiefs, while there was a surprise home defeat for champions Mamelodi Sundowns, who lost to Stellenbosch.

The other four matches ended in draws.

Sekhukhune United 0-1 Kaizer Chiefs

Chiefs picked up a second successive win as they beat Sekhukhune 1-0 at Ellis Park Stadium.

Chiefs grabbed the lead in the 38th minute, Rama Mphahlele heading in to give the visitors a 1-0 lead at the half-time break.

Cape Town City 0-0 AmaZulu

City missed a chance to pull away in second-place as they played to a goalless draw with AmaZulu at the DHL Stadium.

It was a goalless first half in Cape Town, and while chances fell for both teams, it was the goalkeepers Hugo Marques and Veli Mothwa, who stood out.

Mamelodi Sundowns 0-3 Stellenbosch

Champions Sundowns suffered just their third league defeat of the season, going down to Stellenbosch at the Tuks Stadium.

Ashley Du Preez gave the visitors an early lead, as he made it 1-0 in the sixth minute, and the visitors made it 2-0 just before half-time, Jayden Adams getting the goal.

Du Preez got his second, and Stellies third just before the hour mark to give Steve Barker’s team a fantastic win.

Golden Arrows 2-2 Royal AM

at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium.

Mfundo Thikazi put Royal AM ahead in the 10th minute, but the score was level nine minutes later, with Pule Mmodi on the scoresheet.

Mokete Mogaila made it 2-1 to Royal AM in the 33rd minute, but five minutes later Arrows were awarded a penalty and Nduduzo Sibiya levelled matters.

But that was the end of the goal-scoring unfortunately, and the match ended 2-2

Baroka 3-1 SuperSport United

Baroka picked up a big win over SuperSport, to remain undefeated under Vincent Kobola, with a 3-0 win at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Bonginkosi Makume gave Baroka the lead just before the half-hour mark, converting a penalty after Keenan Phillips was adjudged to have hand-balled in the box. Moments later Baroka were awarded a second spot kick, and once again Makume converted to make it 2-0.

Evidence Makgopa added the third goal with fifteen minutes remaining, before SuperSport pulled one back through an Aubrey Ngoma.

Swallows 0-0 Chippa United

It ended goalless at Dobsonville Stadium, as Swallows couldn’t use their home advantage against Chippa.

TS Galaxy 0-0 Marumo Gallants

It also ended goalless at the Mbombela Stadium, with Galaxy unable to get the points to pull them away from danger, and they will need to ensure a good result next week.

Orlando Pirates and Maritzburg United were not in action due to Pirates’ involvement with the CAF Confederation Cup semi-finals.
