Zwane On Zuma Return

Arthur Zwane has commented on Dumisani Zuma’s performance after the Kaizer Chiefs winger made his first appearance of the 2021/22 season.

Zuma, 26, missed large parts of the season due to injury but was later suspended by the club after being caught drunk driving.

However, he returned to the Amakhosi squad in the beginning of the year and has since worked himself back into team, and after making the bench against Golden Arrows and TS Galaxy he finally made his long-awaited return in the 1-0 defeat to Stellenbosch on Saturday.

Zwane was impressed with the skilful winger’s display but insisted he could’ve done even better.

“No, he looks good at training, Dumisani,” he responded when asked by iDiski Times journalist David Kappel about the player.

“As you could see, when he came on, he also changed the complexion of the game. Unfortunately like I said, unfortunately, I believe he could have done even much better.

“But it’s one of those things for the fact that he hasn’t been playing for some time now.

“But for him to go in there and show that courage, and self belief, and what he can do and what he’s made of, and that was very good to see.

“And we encourage him more to believe in himself and give those kinds of performances, and be consistent.”

Zuma might get another chance to impress when Chiefs will finally replay their December fixture against Golden Arrows on Wednesday.
