Fleurs Comments On Chiefs Rumours

SuperSport United defender Luke Fleurs has commented on rumours linking him with a move to Kaizer Chiefs next season.

The towering centre-back has cemented a starting spot in coach Kaitano Tembo’s side and his impressive performances have seen him earn a call into David Notoane’s 40-men preliminary Olympics squad.

Fleurs, who joined Matsantsansa from Ubuntu FC in Cape Town, has seemingly also impressed Amakhosi but the 21-year-old has remained coy on the transfer talk.

“Um, I don’t think that is something that motivates me, because I believe until the club approaches me, or my agent tells me something, then I will feel like, okay, maybe what I’ve been doing over this time, it’s paying off now, you understand,” he tells iDiski Times journalist Rob Delport.

“Not just by journalists just coming to interview me and asking me about this. So ja, when I see it, it’s not like it motivates me.

“I feel like when it comes, then I’ll feel like I really put in the work.”

Fleurs also spoke about a potential move to Europe, saying that would be his ultimate goal.

“That is the dream! That’s the main goal. Like if it should come now, I’d pack my bag now this second, I’d switch this call off and go (laughs),” he added.

The young centre-back has made 19 appearances for SuperSport this season so far, scoring two goals.
