National under-23 Head Coach David Notoane was impressed by SuperSport United defender Luke Fleurs at the training camp held in Durban over the past week.
While Fleurs, who has been a regular for Matsantsana this season, has been capped at junior national level, he has not been part of Notoane’s previous squads.
But Notoane was delighted with how he fitted in at the training camp, and says the synergy between him and the other defenders was very good.
“Ja, look one should indicate that I’m very happy with a new guy into the squad in defence Luke Fleurs, you know very steady, the way we want to play he fitted in very nicely,” Notoane told SAFA.
“The synergy between him and the guys that he was playing with, which have been with us all the time, was also very good, his ball distribution was very good, so that in itself also gives us I think 50% towards the solution at this stage.”
“So it means in terms of our permutations upfront when we come to the final selection you know it changes our dynamics a little bit so i’m happy from that perspective as well in terms of this camp we are 50% away from a solution.”
“So we’ll see in the next camps coming forward if indeed we can form a very solid stable block that can help us maximize our opportunities up front, with a lot of talented players, explosive players that we have, so ja, i’m happy on that note.”
