Magesi FC coach Allan Freese has reacted to his side’s crucial win over Marumo Gallants in the Betway Premiership on Tuesday.
Dikwena Tṧa Meetse put three past Bahlabane Ba Ntwa without reply in Seshego to break a 13-match winless streak and boost their survival chances. The Limpopo side though remained at the foot of the league log with 17 points in 22 outings.
They also narrowed the gap with fellow relegation candidates Gallants and Orbit College to just a point and the two have played a game more than Magesi.
Freese was pleased with scoring more than one goal saying goals may be important at the end of the season.
“It’s always good to score goals it counts going forward,” said Freese.
“At the end of the day, maybe we’ll need those three goals you can never know. But I’m very happy about the performance of the boys. We played according to the way we wanted to play and I’m happy about that.
“Like we created far more chances which we could have still scored other goals but three goals and playing well I’m happy about that.”
The former Platinum Stars coach is aware of how tense things are at the bottom and emphasised the importance of doing well at home.
“Very much [pleased to have narrowed the gap] and that was our aim,” added the coach.
“We are playing at home, get the three points and then let’s look forward to the next game. Now what we do we go back we prepare for the next game.”
