Kaizer Chiefs defender Reeve Frosler has expressed his delight at winning the Goal of the Month award after fans voted for his effort in the Soweto Derby.
The 24-year-old doesn’t find the back of the net that regularly, in fact his strike in the Soweto Derby was his only goal in 2021/22 so far.

Frosler has now revealed it makes him proud to go away with the award, while also insisting it was a great team goal.
“It’s nice to win this award, especially scoring in a game like the Soweto Derby. So yeah I’m very happy and very excited about it,” he told Chiefs media department.
“I think it’s a good team goal because it started with the goalkeeper, went wide to the one side and then the ball got played behind me to the opposite side and I happen to find myself in a good position, in a position where I could take a shot, with Bernard [Parker] laying it off for me.
“I managed to hit it first time and it ended up in the back of the net.”
Frosler, who has made 14 appearances for Amakhosi this campaign, has admitted that it’s not his best season but he still has a few more games to achieve his personal targets.
“It’s not the best season I’ve had but I’ve still got a few games to get better,” he added.
“I still got a few more games in which I can prove myself and do better for myself in terms of achieving what my season goals were for the season.
“As long as I’m playing, I’m happy which position the coach decides to put me in. I just go out there and do my best. As long as I’m playing, I’m happy.
“I’m happy to be on the field, obviously.”
Chiefs return to action on Saturday, when they will face Chippa United at 17:00 at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
