Marumo Gallants are set to make their debut in the CAF Confederation Cup on Saturday when they meet Futuro Kings in the first preliminary round.
The team departed yesterday to Equatorial Guinea where they will face Liga Nacional de Fútbol team on Saturday.
Gallants qualified for the CAFCC after winning the Nedbank Cup, when they club was known as Tshakhuma FC, before changing names at the end of the season.
Sello bought TTM in January 2021, and had always intended on re-naming the team at the earliest opportunity.
“We’ll go all out with our boys to represent the province and the country,” Gallants chairman Abraham Sello said in a statement from the club.
“And we’ll work harder to put a smile on the faces our supporters.
“We truly appreciate all the support and we’ll see meet when we come back.”
While Gallants will make their debut in the CAFCC, AmaZulu will also make their first appearance in continental football when they host Nyasa Big Bullets from Malawi in the CAF Champions League on Friday.
