GladAfrica Championship Round-Up

Despite drawing on Sunday, JDR Stars reclaimed top spot in the GladAfrica Championship after the weekend’s fixtures, which saw Richards Bay move top of the table for 24 hours.

On Saturday Richards Bay made their move up the table with a convincing 5-2 win over Platinum City Rovers.

Uthongathi and Cape Town All Stars played to a goalless draw, while Hungry Lions got back to winning ways as they beat Black Leopards 2-0.

Pretoria Callies lost 1-0 at home to Polokwane City, while Free State Stars suffered the same result against Tshakhuma.

There were also a first win of the season for bottom-placed Jomo Cosmos, while beat TS Sporting 1-0 away.

On Sunday both matches ended in draws, as Venda Football Academy and AmaTuks drew 1-1, while Cape Town Spurs and JDR Stars ended with the same scoreline at Athlone Stadium.

That draw however was enough for JDR Stars to reclaim the lead at the top of the table, one point ahead of Richards Bay.
