On Saturday three home teams picked up victories, with Polokwane City beating AmaTuks 1-0, Pretoria Callies getting a 2-1 win over Tshakhuma, while Richards Bay beat TS Sporting 2-0.
Rudzani Thabo scored as Venda Football Academy picked up a 1-0 away win over Hungry Lions, while Jomo Cosmos and Free State Stars played to a 1-1 draw (Thabo Maphakisa and D’Angelo Kazeem on the scoresheet).
On Sunday, Issa Sarr scored the winner as Uthongathi beat leaders JDR Stars 1-0.
Platinum City Rovers missed out a chance to go top when they lost 2-1 away to Black Leopards, while a late penalty for Cape Town All Stars, saw them draw 1-1 with Cape Town Spurs, who had led after an Ashley Cupido goal, in a derby at Athlone Stadium.
