Thulani Hlatshwayo says Orlando Pirates want to start 2021 off on a good note when they play Mamelodi Sundowns this afternoon.
Hlatshwayo, who has been leading the team in the absence of Happy Jele, says with the MTN8 in the bag, Pirates now want to focus on the league.
“For sure, everyone is ready, everyone is amped up to go and a the new year on a good note,” Hlatshwayo told Pirates media.
“I wouldn’t say we had got free time for a long time, because we had our game in Angola, and the guys needed to spend time with their families, which was a short break, and you could see in training that the guys are still sharp.”
“The preparation has been good, everyone has been available, we don’t have much injuries except (Zakhele) Lepasa and (Tshegofatso) Mabasa and we’re happy with the preparations so far, and everyone is sharp, and with the session we just had now, everything has been good.”
“For sure, obviously it’s an important game, it’s like a final and internally as a team we have targets, and one of the targets has been accomplished and now it’s to make sure that we focus on the league.”
“You know, we’ve played a lot of draws, didn’t create a lot of chances and didn’t score a lot of goals, and we’ve been doing finishing quite a lot during this week and we’re looking forward to Saturday’s game.”
