TS Galaxy FC new signing Lifa Hlongwane has explained his objectives at the club, saying he wants to deliver and help the team to avoid relegation.
Hlongwane has completed a move to the Rockets on a three-year deal earlier this month after parting ways with Maritzburg United and the forward was the first signing announced by Galaxy in this transfer window.
Hlongwane says he is aware of the club’s situation, but believes they will change things around as he set a mandate of six goals ahead of the second half of the campaign.
“It feels good to join TS Galaxy because the team’s philosophy and my style are the same, so it will be simple to adjust and have a great season,” Hlongwane told club’s media department.
“My promise to the team and fans is that I will perform and create goals as well as to score maybe six goals, I think it will save the team.
“To my fans, they must relax and know that we are not going anywhere, we will stay in PSL.
“There is nothing [that] fears me in the ground, I fear no opponent, so even the guys when I see if we can work hard, we can change the situation.
“I am familiar with this situation where the team on the table, it’s not a big deal, I feel no pressure, one point different is nothing.
“Being in this situation is not a problem, it will just push us to work hard. As I said one point is nothing, we could chase a team with an eighth points difference at some teams, but we managed to survive, so there is pressure here.”
The Rockets are at the bottom of the DStv Premiership table, with only 13 points after playing 17 games this season so far.
